A familiar Panama City restaurant is bringing its homestyle Southern cooking to Panama City Beach with a new location designed for locals and visitors alike.
Big Mama’s Opens on Hutchison Boulevard
Big Mama’s Coastal Country Cooking opened on August 31, 2026, at 10071 Hutchison Blvd. in Panama City Beach.
The restaurant expands on the concept that has served Panama City for more than 20 years. Its new beach location offers the same scratch-made Southern comfort food with a broader menu.
The restaurant also adds several features for a more casual night out. Guests can find a full bar and televisions throughout the space.
The setup also makes the restaurant a potential spot for watching football and other games this fall.
The Menu Expands for the Beach Location
Big Mama’s has built its reputation around country cooking and familiar Southern dishes. The Panama City Beach location keeps that focus while adding more variety to its menu.
The restaurant says the expanded selection aims to offer something for different tastes. At the same time, the kitchen continues the scratch-made approach that helped establish the original Big Mama’s.
The new location also keeps affordability in mind. The restaurant describes its food as home-cooked and its prices as fair.
That combination could make it a convenient option for families, visitors, and locals looking for a filling meal without a formal dining experience.
Big Mama’s Coastal Country Cooking brings Southern comfort food to Panama City Beach with a menu packed with hearty favorites. The restaurant serves breakfast and brunch on weekends, along with a full lunch and dinner menu every day.
For weekend brunch, diners can start with the Lil Mama, which comes with two eggs, grits, toast or a biscuit, and a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham for $12. The Big Mama adds a half biscuit with gravy, two eggs, and a choice of breakfast meat for $16. Other brunch favorites include Chicken N’ Waffles for $16 and a Breakfast Po’Boy with sausage, scrambled eggs, home fries, white American cheese, and house-made remoulade on Leidenheimer bread for $14.
The menu also features plenty of Southern starters. Gizzards, fried green tomatoes, fried pickles, chicken wings, pimento fritters, and catfish nuggets offer several ways to start a meal. The fried pickles come with ranch, while the pimento fritters pair crispy bites of pimento cheese with pepper jelly.
For something lighter, the restaurant offers salads such as the Watermelon Feta Salad and Lil Mama’s Salad. Shrimp or chicken can be added to the Lil Mama’s Salad for an additional $6.
Handheld options include the French Dip, Catfish Po’Boy, Shrimp Po’Boy, Coastal Smash Burger, and Fried Chicken Sandwich. The Blackened Grouper B.L.T. adds a coastal twist with blackened grouper, bacon, lettuce, and tomato.
For a classic Southern meal, the entrée menu features Prime Rib, Fried Chicken, Country Fried Steak, Chicken Fried Chicken, and Pork Chops. Seafood lovers can choose from Blackened Redfish, a Shrimp Plate, the Big Papa Platter, or Shrimp N’ Grits served over cheddar grits with creamy andouille sauce.
Several traditional sides round out the menu, including fried okra, mashed potatoes, baked macaroni and cheese, collard greens, green beans, coleslaw, black-eyed peas, lima beans, and side salad.
Dessert keeps the Southern theme going with Strawberry Shortcake, Pecan Pie, Bread Pudding, and Peach Cobbler.
A New Game-Day Spot in Panama City Beach
Big Mama’s Coastal Country Cooking also wants the new location to feel like a place where guests can stay awhile.
The restaurant features a full bar and multiple TVs for game days. Football season arrives just as the restaurant opens, giving the new location an immediate opportunity to attract sports fans.
The Panama City Beach restaurant operates Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Weekend hours run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The earlier weekend opening also gives diners more options for a Southern-style breakfast or brunch.
With its expanded menu, casual atmosphere, and game-day setup, Big Mama’s Coastal Country Cooking adds another dining option to Panama City Beach. The new location also brings a longtime Panama City name closer to the beach crowd while keeping the comfort-food focus that made the original restaurant a local favorite.
