Fall travel prices are rising, but Florida still has deals

Fall travel deals may not be as plentiful this year, but Santa Rosa Beach remains one of the beach destinations offering lower vacation rental rates after summer.

Fall Travel Demand Keeps Prices Higher

Fall has traditionally brought lower prices and smaller crowds after Labor Day. That pattern is changing as more travelers continue taking trips into the fall.

Vrbo reports that fall travel interest is up 17% from last year. Average nightly rates across its top destinations now sit just 5% below peak summer prices.

The shift means travelers may need to book carefully to find the best seasonal deals.

Santa Rosa Beach Still Offers Fall Savings

Beach destinations continue to offer some of the biggest discounts after summer. Santa Rosa Beach ranks among the destinations with lower average vacation rental rates during fall.

According to Vrbo data cited by FOX Business, Santa Rosa Beach averages 16% less than summer rates during the fall. Panama City Beach averages 24% less, while Orange Beach sees average savings of 31%.

The savings make the 30A area worth considering for travelers who want a beach getaway after the peak summer season.

Later Fall Trips Could Bring More Savings

Travelers can also look beyond early fall for better rates. Vrbo recommends considering later trips and watching for last-minute discounts.

The biggest lodging discounts may come after the holidays. Prices from just after New Year’s through the period before spring break in early 2027 are expected to average about 34% below summer peaks.

For travelers planning a 30A getaway, fall still offers an opportunity to save. However, stronger shoulder-season demand means the biggest bargains may require flexible dates and careful timing.
