A familiar shopping destination is preparing to welcome customers back as the new Alvin’s Island in Destin nears completion.
New Store Almost Ready to Open
The new Alvin’s Island at 1073 U.S. Highway 98 is in the final stages of construction, with signs outside the building announcing that the store is “coming soon.”
Although the company has not announced an official opening date, the nearly completed building signals that shoppers may not have much longer to wait. A digital sign at the front of the property also reads, “We’re almost done for you,” building excitement for the reopening.
The new location features a modern design and a spacious parking area, making it easier for customers to visit one of Destin’s longtime beach retailers.
Rebuilding After the 2021 Fire
The new store replaces the original Alvin’s Island, which was destroyed in a fire in 2021.
After several years of planning and construction, the rebuilt location is nearly ready to serve both locals and the millions of visitors who travel to Destin and the Emerald Coast each year.
The reopening marks an important milestone for the business and brings back a familiar shopping stop along one of the area’s busiest stretches of Highway 98.
A Popular Stop for Beachgoers
Alvin’s Island has long been a favorite destination for beach visitors looking for souvenirs, beachwear, swim gear, gifts, and vacation essentials. Its convenient location makes it an easy stop for travelers heading to or from Destin’s beaches.
The new store is expected to continue that tradition while offering customers an updated shopping experience in a brand-new building.
While shoppers are still waiting for an official grand opening announcement, the finishing touches suggest the wait may soon be over.
Once the doors open, the new Alvin’s Island will once again serve as a popular retail destination for both locals and visitors exploring Destin and Florida’s Emerald Coast.
