Recent restaurant inspections in Bay County found high-priority violations at 10 establishments, while one Panama City Beach restaurant faced a temporary closure.
One Restaurant Temporarily Closed
Jaaskitchen at 9956 Hutchinson Blvd. in Panama City Beach failed a complaint inspection on Aug. 13 and temporarily stopped operations.
Inspectors found nine violations, including three high-priority violations. The report cited an expired restaurant license, 39 live roaches, and a stop sale involving food that was not in a wholesome condition.
The restaurant must correct the violations before reopening.
10 Restaurants Receive High-Priority Violations
Ten other Bay County restaurants had high-priority violations during inspections from Aug. 10-16.
Big Bad Breakfast in Inlet Beach had two high-priority violations involving food temperatures. Chef F, a mobile food vendor, had three violations involving a leaking hand sink and improperly stored tomato sauce.
Don Jose’s in Panama City had four high-priority violations. Inspectors cited improper sanitizer strength, food storage, and chemical storage.
Donut Hole in Inlet Beach had one high-priority violation involving cold food temperatures. The Galley and Hammerhead Fred’s in Panama City Beach each had one violation related to food temperatures and sanitizer levels.
Pretzel in Panama City Beach had a high-priority violation for operating with an expired license. Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort’s Coconuts had two violations involving raw sewage and food temperatures.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe had two high-priority violations involving food held above the required temperature. T’s on Thomas also received a violation after inspectors found raw sewage on the ground.
Several Restaurants Received No Violations
The same inspection period also included restaurants that met all standards during their inspections.
Inlet Beach locations Big Bad Breakfast and Donut Hole received no violations on follow-up inspections during the week. Other restaurants with perfect inspection results included Cahalls Deli, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Gulf Coast Burger Company, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Palmetto Inn and Suites, and Sports to Geaux.
Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation notes that an inspection represents conditions found at a specific time. Restaurants can have different conditions on other days.
