A new study from luxury travel advisors The Resorts Collection analyzed Google search data for 100 popular U.S. vacation destinations.
Key West took the No. 1 spot, averaging 11,696 Google searches per month. Orlando ranked No. 7 with 6,732 monthly searches, while Destin came in No. 10 with 2,682 searches per month.
The results put Florida ahead of other popular destinations in the ranking, with three cities making the top 10.
Destin Ranks Among America’s Top Staycation Spots
Destin’s No. 10 ranking highlights the area’s popularity among travelers looking for a domestic getaway.
The study uses Google search volume from the past 12 months to determine which destinations attract the most interest.
Destin recorded an average of 2,682 searches per month during that period.
Other destinations in the top five included Yosemite, California, with 9,392 monthly searches; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with 8,840; the Outer Banks, North Carolina, with 7,690; and Maui, Hawaii, with 7,220.
More Florida Destinations Make the List
Florida’s presence continues beyond the top 10. Miami ranked No. 12 with an average of 2,533 monthly searches, while St. Augustine placed No. 36 with 964.
The study ranked destinations based on Google Keyword Planner data collected over the previous 12 months.
For Florida travelers, the rankings show the state’s continued presence among popular domestic vacation destinations, with options ranging from the Keys and Central Florida to the Emerald Coast.
